Folk Alliance Mission
The North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance exists to foster and promote traditional, contemporary, and multicultural folk music, dance, and related performing arts in North America. The Folk Alliance seeks to strengthen organizational and individual initiatives in folk music and dance through education, networking, advocacy, and professional and field development.
Network of Cultural Centers of Color
The Network of Cultural Centers of Color was founded in 1989 by a group of arts experts from diverse regions, races, and cultures, who brought together a wealth of information and experience in community-based cultural programs.
NCCC has responded to a growing worldwide interest in multiculturalism by designing and implementing an infrastructure to foster the cross-cultural exchange of expressions, introduce broader audiences to culturally diverse resources and programming, and to develop a national alliance of organizations whose programming embraces cultural pluralism, assures authenticity, and respects the traditional aesthetic of cultures of color.
