Membership Categories and Rates

Voting Members

Individuals and organizations active, directly and substantially, in the fields of folk music, dance and the related performing arts may join as individual or organizational members.

Individual Member
US $70 CDN $90 - Receives one (1) vote in Folk Alliance elections

Sustaining Member (To support the organization at a higher level)
US $100 CDN $135 - Receives one (1) vote

Partners Membership (For two people, either life or business partners)
US $95 CDN $120-Receive one (1) vote each

Small Organization (Annual Revenue of $0-$50,000.00)
US $150 CDN $200 - Receives three (3) votes

Medium Organization (Annual Revenue of $50,000-$300,000.00)
US $230 CDN $310 - Receives five (5) votes

Large Organization Annual Revenue over $300,000.00
US $505 CDN $700 - Receives ten (10) votes

Life Member (Individuals only)
US $1,000 CDN $1,400 - Receives one (1) vote

Non-Voting Members

Individuals or organizations that support the goals and activities of the Folk Alliance, but do not work in the field as defined above. An affiliate is outside the endeavors of folk music and dance, or those services that support the field but are not involved as presenter, performer or in other areas. Affiliate members are entitled to non-voting representation at meetings and receive other privileges of Folk Alliance membership.

Folk Alliance is a not-for-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the Folk Alliance by US taxpayers are deductible to the extent allowed by the law. Folk Alliance has not yet applied for a federal charities number in Canada.
