Description of Music

Four albums and 30 years of combining touring with activism, Pete Kronowitt’s songs lie at the juncture where culture and passion clash with politics. Pete Kronowitt’s music combines hints of country, acoustic punk and a bit folk. Pete has toured from Tokyo to Beijing to San Miguel de Allende to Key West. Pete’s critically acclaimed 2016, 'A Lone Voice' was produced in Nashville by Grammy-winning songwriter Phil Madeira with the core of Emmy Lou Harris' band. The album was released in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention at a protest charity event he organized.

Kronowitt’s freshman project, "Phases of the Heart," recorded in 1993, was produced by John Alagia, of Dave Matthews Band, Jon Mayer, and Ben Folds Five fame, while his second and third albums, “Threads,” and 'elements' were produced by Pete Snell, who toured extensively with Lyle Lovett.

 MICHAEL DOHERTY'S MUSIC LOG 4/19/17
“A Lone Voice, Pete Kronowitt offers reason and truth, two things that are completely lacking in the current government.”

Shadowproof.com "Protest Song of the Week" 8/17/16
“The song, “Got Guns?”, has a playful vibe with catchy rhymes.“

Music In Belgium Review 8/13/16
"A Lone Voice" is a fresh and worthy disc, which awakens the memory of the protest song as it flourished in the Sixties…”

Anti Music Review 8/2/16
Kronowitt is an established Americana artist, a singer, songwriter and guitarist with a penchant for making political statements without conveying anger or preachiness; in fact he generally gets his point across in a fun way.

Rootstime BE (Translated) Review 8/2/16
“Another songwriter from the States making us wonder how in the world he managed to stay under our radar for so long. We can’t but wonder about that now that we've been listening over and over again to his new CD…In summary: we have here a man in the prime of his life, who knows what this world is about. He has the ability to cast these in razor sharp and accurate lyrics. He has a sense of melody reminding us of Mellencamp, Springsteen and Earle. Together with this circle of top musicians he produced a beautiful new album.”
