I love what Carolyn and Jake are doing and can't wait to hear more!" - Bruce Molsky   "The Page Turners are one of the most exciting young groups to pop up in a long while. Born and raised with a singer-songwriter mom , James started singing young and developed a passion for music. A self taught pianist and guitar player, James has married all her talents and experiences into a unique Folk-Pop style. Celeigh Cardinal - Official Showcase Performer 0 C. Cardinal Celeigh Cardinal  (780)819-0659 singer/songwriter Edmonton, AB, Canada Celeigh Cardinal is a prairie girl through and through. Her heartfelt, biographical songs are carried by a voice that harkens to the golden era of jazz and blues. This Métis singer/songwriter is easily one of the finest vocalists to hail from the Peace Country. A Celeigh Cardinal performance is a profound, soulful triumph of songs that blend roots, folk, rock and pop. Her voice at once evokes a gentleness and control which can turn to raucous, gut wrenching, twisted, turn-yourself-inside-out blues within a single phrase.  In May of 2017, Celeigh was the recipient of a “REVEAL Indigenous Arts Award” from the Hnatyshyn Foundation in Manitoba.  In 2016, she received an “ATB Listens” grant from ATB Financial and participated in the (Re)Claim program at the Banff Centre for the Arts.  Celeigh has also received a Youth Role Model Award from the Spirit Seekers Conference in Grande Prairie, and was appointed the Cultural Ambassador for the 2010 Arctic Winter Games.  She is a passionate performer who can draw an emotional response with her deliberate words and rich contralto voice. She is currently based out of Edmonton, Alberta and continues to perform alongside her duo, trio and with her band.

Ari & Mia 0 A. Friedman   Ari & Mia New England's Americana Sister Act       Contact Phone: (617) 835-9151 Contact Email: Category of Folk: Americana/Chamber-Folk Location: Massachusetts   Biography:  p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Times New Roman'; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000; min-height: 15.0px} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Times New Roman'; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none} “Strikingly beautiful, distinctive and exhilarating, with expressive vocals that will find a way into hearts and minds” (No Depression), Ari & Mia reference the styles of Southern and Northeastern fiddle music and the early American songbook to create a realm where their own compositions cross paths with older traditions. Their stylish and sophisticated music honors the sounds of Appalachian cottages, rural dance floors, and urban concert halls. Combine this with their innovative approach to songwriting and the result is a captivating sound.    “Ari & Mia are not creating a new music; they are taking it to another level and exploring areas that have not been attempted in decades. Their all-acoustic, pure and honest approach has significance. Treading the edges of traditional folk in a more faithful manner, they share the lyrical wizardry of 70’s bands Steeleye Span, Tir-na-Nog, and the Incredible String Band, with searing harmony as good as The Beach Boys. The sisters sing in unison like two violins,” continues No Depression on the review of their most recent release, Out of Stone.    Together, the sisters have toured all across the U.S and Australia and are both graduates of New England Conservatory's cutting edge Contemporary Improvisation department. Both award winning songwriters, Mia’s song “Across the Water” won the 2010 John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the folk category, and Ari's song "Old Man" was a semi-finalist for the 2016 International Songwriting Competition. Their two previous albums, 2013’s Land on Shore and 2010’s Unruly Heart, ranked high on the national folk radio charts.   Although we've been touring together for a decade, this is our first time to FAI! We are honored to have received a First Timers Scholarship and would be delighted to play at your private showcase. Contact us and check out our website for more info:

Nicholas Penn - Progressive Folk 0 N. Pennington   Contact Email: Phone:  502-542-0698 Category of Folk:  Progressive Folk Location:  Lexington, KY Website:     Nicholas Penn is a progressive folk musician from Lexington, KY.  Born in Mexico to Baptist missionaries, and studying music and social movements, Penn is a musician on a mission.  His current focus is finding synergy between music, the health food movement, and yoga.  “Ill EAGLE” EP debuted April, 2017 with excellent local reviews.  Penn plans to take his show on the road in 2018.   “Nicholas Penn is captivatingly modest. His music marries quietly masterful guitar playing with wistful narratives that question the state of our interior and exterior worlds — all the while remaining wryly hopeful. His music is disarming… and that’s not an accident. He’d like to see less fighting and more love in the world. His confident music inspires a shred of hope that things could turn out that way.” Mick Jeffries, WRFL - Trivial Thursdays   Penn’s live performances are filled with the masterful accompaniment of Cellist Seth Murphy.  As a duo they create a rich full sound that shimmers with the beauty of acoustic instruments and grooves with the syncopations of Pop, Reggae, and Chillwave.  The two musicians collaborate to deliver a vast range of dynamic volumes, rhythms, and tones, that gives each song a different vibe and takes the audience on a different journey each time.  Penn has recently added a kick drum and tambourine to his repertoire to give the live performance an undeniably modern groove that bridges the gap between Folk, Pop, and Chillwave.
