☆ Art House Kent Saturday, December 9th, 2017 ☆
The Singular's FINAL SHOW.
Joining the lineup are The Village Bicycle and Bethany Joy.

It is going to be an amazing night of fantastic music. It will also be a bit tough. The Singular has largely been THE catalyst for Art House Kent's beginning and continued existance. Often referred to as the "house band" for many reasons. While it is home for the band to rehearse, more importantly the band members (James Pequignot, Terry Mortensen, Mark R. Bradbourne, Miles Cobbs, and Nichole Catalano-Miller) have been the makers, helpers, cleaners, champions... Well, they have been everything in helping me make Art House Kent what it has become. I couldn't have gotten here without them. Even more importantly, James, Terry, Mark, and Miles are among my dearest friends. And I have my wife Nichole to thank more than anything, as it is her talent that is the string which connected us to these amazing dudes!

Come on out and celebrate what The Singular has created and shared with the world (well, at least a lucky group of NE Ohioans)! The sugar on top is that we also get to share in the beauty that The Village Bicycle and Bethany Joy will bring to the stage.

Doors at 7pm, Music starts at 8pm.
Please arrive in time so we can start music on schedule!
(Performer Details following event notes)

Recommended donation of $10 per person.

The event is family friendly, but we cannot ensure that all of the music lyrical content will be suitable for all ages. We ask that children are alway accompanied by a guardian and supervised throughout the event.
**This is a listening room, not a bar. If you want to "party" please consider another venue.**

Parking: We pack as many into our driveway and yard as possible. For overflow, there is open space across the street between the Twin Lakes Veterinary Hospital and Protech Autoworks in front of the Brass Iron Grill (former Rusty Nail). If the SPC Strength and Fitness business is closed for the day, additional parking may be available there, but please do not interfere with their ability to conduct business, and please DO NOT PARK in front of the Veterinary Hospital.

**Art House Kent is a private community space. It is not a business. No fees or payments of any kind are made to the owners for use of the space.

☆ The Singular ☆
After a great 10 year run, The Singular will be tearing down after their set for the last time...
The Singular is a band that holds high the value of music as an experience and strives to make a good one for anyone who cares to listen. As a modest five piece rock band they produce a sound that often straddles the line between ambient indie-rock and modern americana. While being a uniquely original band, they are simultaneously an homage to their many influences, such as Wilco, Modest Mouse, and Radiohead. They triumph the art of storytelling through song, and always invite their audience along with them on a journey full of conflicted characters, apocalyptic overtones, and well crafted musical moments. Terry Mortensen, Miles Cobbs, Mark Bradbourne, Nichole Catalano-Miller, and James Pequignot are The Singular.

☆ The Village Bicycle☆
The Village Bicycle writes songs that they like to play. Sometimes they wonder if parallel versions of themselves are playing the very same songs in far away universes. Sometimes they scream their heads off in a chaotic mayhem-induced frenzy. Sometimes they bob and weave through dancey garage pop that melts into experimental psychedelic freakouts and circles back again on the turn of a dime. They eat burritos and listen to Hall and Oates deep cuts and wonder if David Byrne ever thought his music would be played over the loudspeaker at Dillards. They turn their bodies inside out just because they can. They wash their hands.

Future plans for The Village Bicycle include but are not limited to eating more burritos, playing and creating music together indefinitely, and defeating the ever-looming gray haze of apathy with aggressive distribution of skittles and noise via their early-2016 tape release, Fits and Starts.

☆ Bethany Joy ☆
Bethany Joy is a multitalented musician and vocalist based in Kent, OH. Currently a member of The Speedbumps and a staple of the local open mic scene. While she doesn't have a music page devoted to showcasing her talents (which she should... hint, hint), you've probably been graaced by them if you get out to see live music in the area.
