The Acoustic Café presents a special Why Hunger benefit concert featuring legendary duo Aztec Two-Step, performing songs of Simon & Garfunkel, Everly Brothers, plus their own ATS classics. With guests singer/songwriter Joe D’Urso and Americana songstress Loretta Hagen.

Why Hunger enlists performing artists to raise funds and awareness for the most innovative and effective community-based organizations fighting hunger and poverty all across the world. Through music we can all make a difference in the world!

In 1972, Aztec Two-Step, whose name comes from a poem by beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti, burst upon the scene with their self-titled debut album on Elektra Records. Since then Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman have spent a lifetime making music together. Their debut, plus their subsequent albums for RCA Records, were staples of progressive FM and college radio and helped to bring the music of the 1960s into the 70s.

Still known for their intelligent songwriting, dazzling acoustic lead guitar, and inspiring harmonies, the duo continues to be one of acoustic music's most respected and enduring acts.

“Aztec Two-Step is possibly the best acoustic duo in the world today.” - Acoustic Live, NYC -

Joe D’Urso's fierce independence, dynamic stage presence and altruistic nature have led him down a road less traveled, being on the Board of Directors for Why Hunger and The Light of Day Foundation and presenter of the Rockland/Bergen Music Festival. With his roots/rock band, Stone Caravan, Joe has released 13 CDs.

Loretta Hagen delivers rich alto vocals, polished award winning lyrics and tightly woven harmonies; the hallmark of her musical career. She is a 2013 JAM Awards "Top Female Songwriter of the Year", NJ Folk Festival Songwriter Winner and CT Folk Festival Finalist. Loretta’s third CD, Mud and Stone, received airplay throughout the US, Canada and Europe.
