FAI On the Road

Part of being an international arts organization means getting out and about to build relationships, support our members, and discover great folk music around the world.

This summer our staff traveled to various industry events including A2IM (NYC), MIDEM (Cannes), and Arts Midwest (Milwaukee). Festival attendance included La Grande Rencontre (Montreal), the Kingsville Folk Festival (Ontario), the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Walnut Valley (Kansas), the Tønder Festival (Tønder), and Live at Heart (Örebro).

FAI's annual public event, the Kansas City Folk Festival, also presented showcase stages at Boulevardia, KC Irish Fest, and the Crossroads Music Festival.

We're not slowing down anytime soon, so be sure to look for our staff this Fall at:

FAI Team Profiles

FAI benefits from the support of two field staff who serve as our ears and eyes on the ground in Canada and outside of North America. They are a primary point of contact for industry organizations and artists alike for general questions and showcase inquiries.

Canadian Representative: Ana Miura

Since FAI’s inception, Canada has played a key role as part of the organization, presenting US artists and bringing new talent to US presenters. Working to maintain key partnerships, recommend jurors, and deepen industry relationships, Ottawa-based Ana Miura serves at FAI’s Canadian representative. Ana’s background includes staff roles with the Ottawa Folk Festival, Bluesfest, and Chamberfest. In addition to touring as a songwriter, she is the Founder of the fundraising charity Babes4Breasts and is Director of Miura Arts & Event Consulting. Contact Ana at

International Representative: Sheena Keane

Representing FAI outside of North America, the International Representative role is responsible for promoting FAI, developing industry relationships, informing artists of showcase opportunities and processes, advising the office, recommending jury members, and overseeing the Tradewinds International Networking event during the conference. Based in Ireland, Sheena Keane is a longtime FAI attendee who has worked as a multi-disciplinary curator for festivals, artist residencies, and arts centers, and has managed, tour managed, and project managed international artists throughout their worldwide tours and careers.
