FAI Conference Survival Guide

January 24, 2018: 12pm-1pm CT

The 2018 FAI Conference is quickly approaching. Whether you are a first timer or have been coming for years, join us as FAI's Executive Director provides tips on PREPARATION for the conference, PRACTICAL knowledge when arriving for the conference, PROGRAMMING throughout the conference, and advice on POST conference relationships.

Aengus Finnan, the Executive Director of Folk Alliance International, has been a proud member of the organization for almost 20 years, and has worn many hats attending the conference, giving him a unique perspective to lead this webinar. Originally, Aengus attended FAI as a private showcase artist and as an Official Showcase artist in Jacksonville, FL (2002). Later he attended as the Artistic Director of the Shelter Valley Folk Festival, then as a board member of Folk Music Ontario, and finally as a Granting Officer for the Ontario Arts Council. He was hired by FAI as the first non-US Executive Director in 2014 and has spearheaded staff growth, the global expansion of FAI, diversification of the organization and conference, and the launch of the Artist in Residence program and Kansas City Folk Festival.
